I don't have much to say. I've just wanted to make a series of Death Note [this story just won't get out of my head since autumn ,_, ] fanart featuring Raito [kira], L and Misa. I decided to start with Kira, because if I let him in the end, it would be hard to draw him. Uhm, right I don't have thing for psychopaths/mass murderers characters in fictional stories, actually I mostly dislike them [yup, so famous Muraki is also on my black list]... but Kira... I hate him, but at the same I like Raito, so it ends that I find this character while not exacly likeable, quite fascinating.
Call it a Dr.Jekyll/Mr.Hyde dynamic, or whatever.
It's also a illustration for a short ficlet with little musing about - uh - this character personality.
I tried a diffrent coloring here, and it actually worked faster, a lot faster then usual :3 *the anatomy is off, but I'm working on it!*

A3 paper for pencil sketch, Painter 8 for initial painting and baisic shades - Photoshop 7 for painting the details.
funfact - the font I used to make a watermark, is the same font L uses for - well - his stylised trademark "L" ;] (yes I'm a dork)

i love this peice, first decent version of Light as a shinigami iv ever seen. The extra skin thats stappled into his chest and arms are a nice touch.
